Saturday’s MLP playoff action delivered plenty of drama, with three of the four quarterfinal matches being decided by DreamBreakers.

Brooklyn, New Jersey, and Dallas all came away with DreamBreaker victories, while the St. Louis Shock became the first team to officially advance to the semifinals.

(Which will be held in NYC next week)

Brooklyn Takes Down Defending Champs

The Brooklyn Pickleball Team opened its series against the defending champion Columbus Sliders with an impressive victory.

Rachel Rohrabacher made her return from injury and immediately made an impact, picking up victories in women’s doubles alongside Jackie Kawamoto and in mixed doubles with Christian Alshon.

With the teams splitting the four doubles games, the match headed to a DreamBreaker, where Brooklyn took control. Christian Alshon and Chris Haworth were especially dominant in their singles rotations, helping Brooklyn cruise to a 21-10 victory and take a 1-0 lead in the series.

New Jersey Survives a Scare

The top-seeded New Jersey 5s entered their matchup against the Palm Beach Royals as the heavy favorites, but Palm Beach made them work for it.

Dekel Bar delivered a huge performance for the Royals, winning both of his doubles games and helping force a DreamBreaker.

Palm Beach continued to challenge New Jersey in singles, but the 5s eventually pulled away for a 21-17 DreamBreaker victory.

New Jersey now sits one win away from advancing to the semifinals.

Dallas Keeps Its Season Alive

After dropping the opening match of its series against the Los Angeles Mad Drops on Friday, Dallas entered Saturday needing a victory to avoid elimination.

The Flash did exactly that, defeating Los Angeles in a DreamBreaker to even the series at 1-1.

That sets up a winner-take-all third match on Sunday, with the winner advancing to the semifinals and the loser heading home.

St. Louis Punches Its Ticket

There wasn't nearly as much drama in the St. Louis-Texas series, minus the Lea J and Hayden P shenanigans.

The Shock swept the Texas Ranchers 3-0 for the second consecutive day, becoming the first team to officially advance to the MLP semifinals.

St. Louis will now wait to see who joins them as the remaining three quarterfinal series are decided on Sunday.

With Brooklyn-Columbus, New Jersey-Palm Beach, and Dallas-Los Angeles all still alive, Sunday will determine the final three teams advancing to the semifinals.
